Compare a visit in person with care online
| The question | In a room | Online |
|---|---|---|
| The assessment | Who will assess me at the visit? | Who reviews my answers, and how can we ask follow-up questions? |
| The practical part | What would require a return trip? | What would require a local test or an in-person visit? |
| After the visit | Who handles later questions? | Who replies after the online exchange ends? |
| The quote | What is separate from the visit fee? | What is separate from any ongoing fee? |
Ask whether your questions can be answered online or need a visit in person. Either way, ask for an explanation of the medicine being offered.

Check the source behind the answer
A state medical board lets you check a doctor’s licence and any published penalties or formal charges against them.
Formal charges are official accusations that the doctor broke medical rules; they are different from a penalty already decided.
What becomes public differs by state; the record does not list every complaint from a patient.
The pharmacy’s licence is a different record, held by a state board of pharmacy.
Ask for both names in writing. Follow the source links below, then note which record you checked.
